If we expect 80% self-consumption (with solar electricity generated and instantly consumed 80% over the year), from a rooftop photovoltaic system in Northern Italy, we would avoid withdrawing about 106 MWh/year (106,700 kWh) from the grid which, therefore, will be acquired directly at no cost from the plant’s production.
Therefore, if we consider an average billable price of 0.24 cents kWh (average value in Dec-23) we will have an annual saving of 25,600 €.
