The Ministry of Environment and Energy Security has approved the Decree to incentivize Energy Communities. This includes an incentive tariff and non-repayable grants for municipalities with fewer than 5 thousand inhabitants (funded by the PNRR), and aid amounting to € 5.7 billion.
But what are CERs – Renewable Energy Communities?
A CER can include:
- groups of citizens,
- condominiums,
- SMEs,
- local authorities / associations / cooperatives
How it is established
The area for the plant and primary substation is identified.
A deed, a statute or articles of incorporation are established, focusing on the environmental, economic and social benefits.
The project is submitted to the GSE and incentives are requested.
